What is Needle Biopsy?

A needle biopsy or needle aspiration is a medical test that can identify the cause of an abnormal lump or mass in your body. Using imaging guidance e.g., ultrasound, mammogram, CT or fluoroscopy the doctor inserts a small needle into the abnormal area and removes a sample of the tissue, which is given to a pathologist, who examines it under a microscope.

What is a Nephrostomy/ Biliary Drainage?

Nephrostomy / Biliary Drainage is a procedure in which a catheter is placed through your skin and into your kidney / bile duct to drain your urine / bile. X-ray imaging (fluoroscopy) is used to help guide the catheter into exactly the right place to drain your urine / bile. Nephrostomy / Biliary drainage is performed instead of surgery.

A Coronary angiogram is a special x-ray test where radio-opaque dye is injected into the Coronary Arteries of the heart to find out if there are any blockages in these arteries. The arteries can get blocked with fat cells, or some hard material called plaque leading to blockage of blood flow to your heart.
