Needle Biopsy

What is Needle Biopsy?

A needle biopsy or needle aspiration is a medical test that can identify the cause of an abnormal lump or mass in your body. Using imaging guidance e.g., ultrasound, mammogram, CT or fluoroscopy the doctor inserts a small needle into the abnormal area and removes a sample of the tissue, which is given to a pathologist, who examines it under a microscope.

Nephrostomy / Biliary Drainage

What is a Nephrostomy/ Biliary Drainage?

Nephrostomy / Biliary Drainage is a procedure in which a catheter is placed through your skin and into your kidney / bile duct to drain your urine / bile. X-ray imaging (fluoroscopy) is used to help guide the catheter into exactly the right place to drain your urine / bile. Nephrostomy / Biliary drainage is performed instead of surgery.

Embolization of Brain Aneurysms and Arteriovenous Malformations/ Fistulas

Embolization of Brain aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVM) fistulas is a minimally invasive treatment for aneurysms and other blood vessel malformations that occur in the brain. These problems are typically identified in adults; however, aneurysms and AVMs can also occur in children.

Uterine Fibroid Embolisation

What is Uterine Fibroid Embolisation ?

Uterine Fibroid Embolisation is a minimally invasive treatment for uterine fibroids. Uterine fibroids are very common non-cancerous (benign) growth that develop in the muscular wall of the uterus. They can range in size from very tiny ( a quarter of an inch) to larger than a grapefruit

Non-Surgical Vertebroplasty

Vertebroplasty is a minimally invasive form of treatment for vertebral compression fractures caused by osteoporosis, which fail to respond to conservative medical therapy. Indications for vertebroplasty include intolerable side effects to analgesia and little or no pain relief with analgesia, bed rest, physiotherapy and use of a corset.

Nucleoplasty

Necleoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that allows the patient to go home on the day of the procedure with only a small bandage on their back. The procedure is performed by specialist including pain management, interventional radiologist, and surgeons using X-ray guidance to accurately place a needle in the disc, much like an epidural steroid injection. A patented plasma device is then inserted through the needle into the disc, where tissue is removed. Similar to letting air out of a bicycle tire, removing some of the tissue from the center of a disc causes a reduction in disc pressure, which in turn, eases symptoms.

Coronary Angiogram

A Coronary angiogram is a special x-ray test where radio-opaque dye is injected into the Coronary Arteries of the heart to find out if there are any blockages in these arteries. The arteries can get blocked with fat cells, or some hard material called plaque leading to blockage of blood flow to your heart.
